Number 8 - Half Hour Of Power

Even I am annoyed at myself for putting this so low. I guess it just wasn't as good as I remember it being. Don't get me wrong, I love it. I like the instrumental tracks, and I like the heavy-ish sound. However, the instrumental tracks are also one reason I don't like it. They're too overpowering. I do understand that it is an EP and not an album, but I want more to listen to.

That being said, there are a few absolutely great songs here, the most noticeable, being Makes No Difference. That is one of only 2 songs on this release that people have actually heard of, The other being It's What We're all about, which on this album is shortened, and paired with Dave's Possessed Hair, another great song. My favourite hidden gem song, is a toss up between Machine Gun, which is straight forward but catchy, and Second Chance For Max Headroom, an attempt at Ska Punk. Both of the are awesome in their own way.

The EP is definitely underrated, and I do think it deserves more attention at least, but overall, it just misses the mark a little bit. It's a shame, as it's a very good debut, and made people a lot more interested in the follow up, All Killer. So it is arguable, that this album opened the way to their success with All Killer. Probably not, but I like to think that. It's a solid release though, and you must listen if you haven't already.
