Why a Hot Hatch is all the car you'll ever need.

When it comes to buying a car, there a several things you consider. Price, Fuel Economy, Performance, Looks. The list goes on. But what happens if everything is important. What do you get? Well, there are really only two options. A mid range saloon car such as a 3 series BMW, or... a Hot Hatch. Wanna know which one you should pick? Hot Hatch. Let me tell you why. Take this lovely Hyundai i30N for example. It definitely looks the part. And with 271 hp, it's not what you would call sluggish. 0-60 is dealt with in UNDER SIX SECONDS! The Top Speed? Over 150. Not bad for a family sized hatchback. A family sized hatchback that costs a tad under 25 grand. Amittedly, not everyone has 25 grand lying about, so what if you wanted something a little cheaper?

For as little as 19 grand, you can get a Fiat Abarth 595. Now I know what you're thinking, "Why the hell would I want a Fiat?". I'll tell you exactly why. Fiat own Ferrari. Which basically means, that if you spend, £19,000, you can get, what is essentially, a mini Ferrari. Now that's definitely something to shout about. Imagine how many birds you'll pull with that tagline. I mean yes, it's not as fast as the Hyundai, and it's a LOT smaller, but if all you want is a small runabout, that can also give you chills on a B-Road, then why would you get anything else.

And it doesn't stop there. There are so many choices in this segment. Different sizes of car, different power levels. Take the Honda Civic Type-R for example. It's £31,000, which is a lot. BUT, it has over 300 hp, and is as close to a BTCC touring car that you'll ever get. This car lapped the Nurburgring in under 8 minutes. Wanna know some of the cars it beat? Sure. Nissan GT-R. Aston Martin V8 Vantage. The V10 Audi R8. A 7.3 Litre Zonda. ALL of those, are really fast, proper supercars. And they ALL got beat by a 30 grand Honda. So if this isn't enough to convince you then, I don't know what to say.

All in all, a Hot Hatch is a no brainer. It does everything that an ordinary car does, and everything that a sports car does. And you're not exactly limited on choice. Ford Focus RS and ST. Seat Leon Cupra. VW Golf R and GTI. Renault Clio and Megane RS. The list goes on. And on. And on. Everyone should have one. Every car, should be a Hot Hatch.
